MSc Applied Aquatic Biology lecturer, Dr Francoise Cabada, presents a deep dive into aquatic ecosystems and the challenges they face.

Aquatic ecosystems hold some of the planet’s most extraordinary and imperilled species, yet many remain hidden from public view until it is almost too late. This webinar explores the science, challenges, and hope behind conserving rare aquatic organisms, from cryptic invertebrates to iconic reef builders.

We will dive into the pressures driving their decline, the methods used to monitor and restore vulnerable populations, and the collaborative efforts needed to safeguard biodiversity beneath the surface. Join us to uncover why these species matter, what their disappearance signals for our future, and how conservationists are working to turn the tide.
