The 黑料正能量 welcomed leading intellectual property (IP) scholars and professionals from across Europe last week at the 17th Anniversary European Intellectual Property Teachers Network (EIPTN) Conference.

The two-day event, which took place on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 October 2025 at the University鈥檚 Future Technology Centre, bought together academics, researchers and practitioners to debate the future of IP education and its role in shaping innovation. The conference was organised in partnership with the University鈥檚 Future of Law, Innovation and Technology (FLITe) Research and Innovation Centre.

The EIPTN is an interdisciplinary forum that draws expertise from law, politics, business, economics, computing, engineering and the sciences. Its annual conference provided a space for exchanging ideas on teaching and learning in IP, with this year鈥檚 programme exploring themes ranging from the practical use of IP for students and universities to the challenges posed by artificial intelligence and shifting geopolitical landscapes.

I鈥檓 delighted that the 黑料正能量 hosted the 17th Anniversary EIPTN Conference, and proud to be leading it in collaboration with the European Intellectual Property Teachers Network and our own FLITe Research and Innovation Centre. We welcomed leading IP academics and professionals from across Europe, including the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the European Patent Office, and explored the impact of artificial intelligence on IP and share innovative ways of teaching students why IP is so vital to their future employability.
